| Course Description |
This will be based entirely on laboratory sessions. Students will engage in a series of practical sessions that will introduce them to biochemistry and biology techniques. These will be performed in the laboratory setting, incorporating discussions and informal tutorials within each session.
Techniques will include: spectroscopy, centrifugation, electrophoresis, immuno-chemical methods, and some molecular biology. In addition students will be introduced to the concepts of health and safety and risk assessment and to the skills associated with the composition of scientific reports.
