Course Detail

Course Title  Animal Form and Function
Course Code  SB 2203
Credit  4
Semester Offered  1
Duration of Courses
Degree  Undergraduate
Programme  Bachelor of Science
Course Description  This course will help students to understand animal morphology, anatomy, structure and structural pattern, with emphasis on interpretation of structures in terms of phylogeny and function. This will include initially a brief survey of invertebrate and chordate phylogeny and classification. At he end of the course, students will be able to: • Dissect several representative organisms to study organ systems • Identify various structures associated with the organ systems • Relate form of organisms to function • Explain structural adaptation of organisms to habitats • Identify main groups of animals and understand evolutionary relationships between them
Prerequisite  None
