Course Description  After successful completion of this course, students should be able to: • Demonstrate a sound knowledge on carbonyl chemistry, carboxylic acids and its derivatives; • Demonstrate a clear knowledge of C-C bond formation, protecting groups and their uses strategies of retrosyntheses and selective oxidation and reduction of organic compounds; • Describe in details the concepts, theories and the application of IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry in organic chemistry. From the practical part of this course, students should be able to: • Apply the theories, concepts and analytical ability in research.
