| Course Description |
This module initiates students into the study of drama as a subject in its own right. Students will develop an understanding of the philosophical and historical background of drama and theatre through exploring theories including those of Aristotle and Horace. They will also study the different contemporary drama techniques formalized by influential theatre practitioners. Different functions of drama will be discussed as they serve as a springboard to explore twentieth century issues like interculturalism, world theatre, community theatre, and so on.
