| Course Description |
This module introduces students to the history of the English language, from its ancestor languages and its first emergence as a distinct language approximately 1500 years ago, to the development of modern English as a world language. The module also introduces students to processes of language change common to all languages, including Malay and the other languages of Brunei Darussalam. On completion of the course students will also have a greater understanding of various aspects of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling.
