Course Description |
This module is geared to equip students with a thorough understanding of and skills in ecological concepts of tropical forests ecosystems and environment, and applications of rainforest management through theory, empirical patterns, hands-on exposure and direct experimentation. These goals are achieved through practical "hands-on" experience of rainforest ecology through working on a small project of their own choosing. This module also includes field trips to several rainforest types in this country and other tropical regions (when possible) to familiarize students with forests characteristics, species identification, socio-cultural interactions and community-based forestry.
