Course Description  The major aim is to examine the issues concerned with the sustainable management of both renewable and non-renewable resources. The module promotes a systems approach to resource management, viewing all the various elements, e.g. biological, social and economic, as an integrated system. It also aims to highlight particular resources, e.g. flora, fauna, landscapes, soil, water and air, and to analyse them as parts of complex, interacting cycles. The module then considers how societies can participate effectively within these cycles and thus create a sustainable relationship between the environment and human activities.
