Course Title  Spatial Patterns of Development
Course Code  AD 1201
Credit  4
Semester Offered  1
Duration of Courses
Degree  Undergraduate
Programme  Bachelor of Arts
Course Description  The aim of the course is to expose students to factors that are responsible for spatial patterns of development so that they can appreciate the unevenness of development. The module explains how the variations in development have been created by a combination of factors which may be natural, cultural, socioeconomic, political or historical. Unevenness of development at regional and global levels has led to divisions, creating dichotomous areas of development cores (rich) and peripheries (poor). It also seeks to understand the development challenges of this region, including the role of government, non-governmental organizations and (individual) entrepreneurs in development.
