| Course Description |
This module would introduce the students to issues discussed by contemporary Muslim thinkers. The aim of this course is to provide a mosaic of Islamic thinkers and their various responses to contemporary issues. Issues such as science and technology, progress and society, knowledge and ways of development in Muslim societies are the most discussed about by Muslim thinkers. In the heart of all these issues lie philosophical issues connected to metaphysics, epistemology and ethics. Since the advent of western technology Muslim societies had to respond to these issues within their geographical area and beyond. The responses have been varied and in fact are still continuing.
