Course Description  Small economies are facing increasing challenges and some new opportunities in a globalizing world. Many definitions and criteria have been used to identify small nations; this module utilizes the World Bank criteria of population of 1.5 million or less (Brunei is classified as small economy). Although the problems facing small nations vary widely, these economies tend to have several common concerns and opportunities. The aim of the module is to examine the various challenges and opportunities across these small economies. Students will get an understanding of how small economies, including Brunei, are performing in an increasingly globalised world.
