Course Description  The modern environmental movement gets its inspiration from the critique of Enlightenment philosophies developed by Romantic philosophers and poets in the nineteenth century and the critique of the Cartesian paradigm developed by phenomenologists and existentialist philosophers in the twentieth century. The purpose of this course is to understand the current environmental predicament with reference to different world views and their impact on our attitudes and policies towards the environment.
