Duration of Courses
Degree  Undergraduate
Programme  Bachelor of Arts
Course Description  The module introduces the student to the study of terrestrial geomorphology. It will focus particularly on the mechanics of landform development in the humid tropical environment of Southeast Asia, where continuous biological activity and the impacts of intermittent storms combine and contribute significantly to the changing landscape. At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to explain landform and landforming processes and carry out geomorphic studies independently. The course provides students of the environment with the basic knowledge necessary for more advanced studies and research. It also provides students of environmental and risk management with a solid understanding of how natural hazards such as landslides occur.
Prerequisite  Students should be majoring in Environmental Studies or have biological / ecological knowledge up to at least GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent.
