Course Description |
The module is designed to introduce students to the general principles of law regulating various segments of business practices in Brunei and other Common Law jurisdictions. It aims to impart knowledge of the legal framework within which organizations and business operate and how the decisions of the team players within the organizations and businesses are shaped by the relevant laws. At the end of the module, students should be able to explain the sources of Brunei and English laws and analyze how contracts are formed, its constituents and remedies for their breach. They should also be able to explain how property and risk are transferred in sale of goods, how agents are appointed, and the extent of their authority and liability of their principal for their actions. Furthermore, the students should be able to explain the consumer protection, legal service and dispute settlement in Brunei Darussalam and other jurisdiction.
