| Course Description | This course develops students’ understanding of how children develop their first language within the first few years of life and then compares and contrasts this development to that of a second language, often later in life. Students investigate various theories of language development, from behaviorism to nativism, to more recent cognitive and functional approaches, and explore the implications of these theories. |
