The module aimed at providing students with:
Understanding of concepts and methodology of Energy Balances
Energy balances for nonreacting systems i.e. characterization of the state of a system, energy balance using tabular thermodynamic data and with complete thermodynamic tables, analysis of non-reacting systems
Energy balances for reacting systems i.e. heat to reaction concept, energy balances with single chemical reaction, energy balances with multiple chemical reactions and with unknown stoichiometry
Materials and energy balances in process flow sheets i.e. strategy for manual and machine computations
